The D100 is a digital SLR camera from the Japanese manufacturer Nikon , which was launched in July 2002. The manufacturer aimed them at professional and amateur photographers.

technical features

The camera has a 6 megapixel image sensor in DX format . It also has u. a. via an integrated flip-up flash, a dimming button , a mirror lock-up and a cable release connection .

The focusing screen has an overlaid grid line network, interchangeable screens are offered by third-party manufacturers. The exposure metering does not work if a CPU Nikkor ( Ai-P , AF , AF-D , AF-S , AF-G ) is not attached.

One accessory is the battery handle MB-D100 , which has a portrait format shutter release and two additional dials. The handle takes 2 rechargeable batteries of the type EN-EL3 or six mignon cells. It also offers a 10-pole connection socket for electronic remote triggering.

equipment

For the camera types with DX sensors, Nikon offers different lenses in the special lens series DX-Nikkor as well as from other manufacturers, from fisheye to telephoto zoom as well as macro lenses .

history

Technically, the camera is based on the analog Nikon F80 model . It doesn't look like a camera with a particularly tough metal housing. The camera was the manufacturer's first digital SLR camera that was intended for semi-professional use.
