The Nikon D600 is a digital SLR camera from the Japanese manufacturer Nikon , which was launched on the market in September 2012.
technical features
The 24,3- megapixels - full frame - image sensor (manufacturer name FX format ) allows you to shoot with a maximum of 6016 x 4016 pixels.
Pictures can either be taken with manual settings, in the aperture preselection, time preselection, program automatic or fully automatic, as well as 19 motif programs. The camera allows the predefined image styles landscape , portrait , black and white , neutral and standard . Other custom image styles can be saved. It also has the option of video recording in a maximum of Full HD resolution (1920 × 1200 pixels) at 30 frames per second. The camera has a built-in mono microphone. An external stereo microphone can also be connected.
The camera has 39 auto focus areas. They concentrate on the area in the center of the image sensor, which corresponds to the size of an APS-C sensor.
The image recording in the manufacturer's own raw data format NEF can be done either in 12-bit or 14-bit color depth per channel, in JPEG format 8 bits per channel are saved with lossy compression. In HDR mode, particularly high-contrast photos can be taken by automatically superimposing two exposures to form one image when the shutter is released.
The camera is protected against dust and splash water. The housing, including the battery and memory card, weighs around 850 grams and is partly made of a magnesium alloy .
Use of DX lenses
Lenses that were specially developed for the DX image sensor format have a smaller image circle, but can also be used on the camera due to the same bayonet . The camera is able to recognize these lenses and automatically switches to DX mode with the appropriate setting. In this mode, only a 24 × 16 millimeter area of the sensor is used. This prevents the shadowing caused by the smaller image circle , but the full resolution of the sensor can no longer be used. With the camera, the maximum image size is reduced to 3936 × 2624 pixels, which corresponds to approx. 10.3 megapixels. To assist the photographer in composing the image, a rectangle is displayed in the viewfinder that shows the image area used in DX mode.
equipment
All manufacturer's own Nikkor lenses from the Ai standard can be used on the camera .
The portrait battery grip belonging to the camera bears the manufacturer designation MB-D14 . All CLS and iTTL compatible flash units can be controlled automatically. Other devices can be triggered by manual control.
The camera has a combined interface for remote release and for geotagging using a GPS receiver. In addition to the GPS position data, compass information ( heading ) is transmitted, but this is not used by Nikon's own GP-1 receiver . The recording direction can be added to the photos using suitable geotaggers from third-party manufacturers.
Model variant Nikon D610
In October 2013, a slightly modified model was introduced with the Nikon D610 . It is largely identical to the camera described above, but has an increased frame rate from 5.5 to 6 frames per second, a series mode “quiet release” with 3 frames per second and an improved white balance. The closure has also been modified to prevent oil contamination of the sensor.
Individual evidence
- ↑ Nikon (among other manufacturers) counts the subpixels of each pixel, i.e. H. the red, green and blue channels of each pixel individually, and therefore specifies the rear display with 307,200 [pixels] × 3 [colors] = 921,600 or approx. 921,000 pixels.
