The Nikon D700 is a digital SLR camera from the Japanese manufacturer Nikon , which was launched in July 2008. The manufacturer developed them with the needs of professional and amateur photographers in mind.
technical features
The main feature of the camera is the 12 megapixel full format sensor. It enables low-noise photos up to ISO 6400. The so-called FX-image format that the small picture format equivalent mm 24 × 36, the format ratio of miniature lenses is retained. If a manufacturer's own DX lens ( DX corresponds roughly to the APS-C format) is attached and recognized as such by the camera, the camera automatically switches to the DX format if the appropriate setting is made. Only part of the sensor area is used. This automatic function only works with compatible lenses.
The camera is particularly protected against dust and splash water and has a compact housing made of a magnesium alloy that weighs around 1 kg. It has automatic program, time and shutter priority as well as manual aperture and shutter speed settings.
The viewfinder of the camera has a viewfinder image of 95%, fade-in grid lines as well as an eyepiece lock and a round screw thread. The camera can display an electronic level - an artificial horizon - to orient the camera.
The camera uses CompactFlash cards as the recording medium , and 64 GB UDMA cards are also supported. The image recording in Nikon raw data format NEF can be done either in 12-bit or 14-bit per channel. Alternatively, lossy compressed JPEG files or a combination of both can be saved. Lossless compressed TIFF files are also possible.
The firmware will be further developed on a case-by-case basis, the current status is D700 firmware update A 1.04, B 1.03 .
equipment
All Nikkor lenses from the Ai standard can be used on the camera .
Most of the accessories also fit the D300 and D300s models : The optional MB-D10 battery grip enables the camera to be held comfortably when taking pictures in portrait format. In combination with the battery grip and the EN-EL4a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, the series image speed increases from 5 to 8 images per second. The WT-4 WLAN adapter is also compatible .
The camera's flash system complies with the Nikon iTTL standard. Simultaneously with the market launch of the camera, the SB-900 flash unit was presented as the manufacturer's highest quality model.
The camera has a combined accessory interface to which cable releases can be connected or GPS receivers such as the Nikon GP-1 to enable geotagging of the recordings. In addition to the GPS data, the GPS interface also processes compass information ( heading ).
Individual evidence
- ↑ Nikon (among other manufacturers) counts the subpixels of each pixel, i.e. H. the red, green and blue channels of each pixel individually, and therefore specifies the rear display with 307,200 [pixels] × 3 [colors] = 921,600 or approx. 921,000 pixels.
