technical features

The 24,2- Megapixel - Image Sensor delivers images with a maximum of 6016 × 4000 pixels. It has a size of 23.2 mm × 15.4 mm (manufacturer designation DX format ).

The camera has a 3-inch screen with a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels and an 11-point autofocus. Image and video data are saved on an SD card .

In addition to photos, the camera can also be used to take digital video recordings in Full HD format. It also has the following features:

  • Continuous shooting at four frames per second
  • Microphone input for video mode
  • Support of UHS-I memory cards
  • EXPEED3 image processor

GPS data

The camera can be expanded via the combined interface for cable release and GPS receiver for geotagging of JPEG and NEF files. The manufacturer offers the GP-1 GPS module for this purpose . Although the Nikon GP-1 receiver has built no electronic compass, GPS interface processes in addition to the GPS coordinates and direction information (Engl. Heading ). Some third party manufacturers of Geotagger modules use this functionality.

Individual evidence

  1. Nikon (among other manufacturers) gives the sub-pixels instead of the number of pixels, i.e. H. counts the red, green and blue sub-pixels individually. The manufacturer therefore specifies the rear display with 307,200 [pixels] × 3 [colors] = 921,600 [sub-pixels] or approx. 921,000 points.
