technical features
The camera has the following features, among others:
- Time-lapse movies can be recorded.
- As a remote release, an in-house radio release, e.g. B. WR-1 , or the mobile app SnapBridge can be used on a smartphone .
- With SnapBridge , the camera has the option of communicating via Bluetooth with the smartphone. The recordings, images or videos are transferred to the smartphone immediately after they have been recorded and can be processed there.
- The magnification factor of the viewfinder is given in the literature as 0.82 times or 0.55 times.
- In contrast to all higher-priced Nikon DSLR and DLSM models, the play button is located to the right of the screen and can therefore be reached with the thumb of the right hand.
In the original firmware version of the camera, the use of Wi-Fi was limited to Nikon's SnapBridge app, which is also the case with other Nikon camera models. According to an open letter initiated by photographer Gunther Wegner , this restriction was lifted with a firmware update in May 2019 and WiFi connectivity was opened for third-party applications.
