The Nikon D1X ( X for e x tended ) is a digital SLR camera from the Japanese manufacturer Nikon , which was launched in June 2001. The manufacturer marketed them specifically as a high-resolution model variant.

technical features

The 5,74- Megapixel - CCD - image sensor delivers images with a maximum of 4028 x 1312 pixels. It has a size of 23.7 mm × 15.6 mm (manufacturer designation DX format ) and comes from the Japanese manufacturer Sony .

The camera has a 3D matrix measurement , which also enables an automatic white balance and tone value correction . The camera can take up to 40 pictures in series at 3 frames per second. The color monitor with backlight has a resolution of 120,000 subpixels. The camera can work internally with ICC color profiles. It also has various individual functions, an ASIC processor and a built-in RS232c interface for the optional connection of a GPS receiver.

history

Technically, the camera is largely based on the Nikon D1 model . Compared to this and the Nikon D1H model , which was developed in parallel , the camera has a higher-resolution sensor with 5.47 megapixels with 4028 × 1324 pixels instead of the 2.74 megapixel sensor . The size of the CCD elements was halved in the horizontal direction, thus doubling the number. The dimensions were left vertical.

The 4024 × 1324 pixel image obtained from the new sensor is then converted into an image with standard aspect ratios (3008 × 1960 pixels). This significantly increases the sharpness of the image.
