Norbert Kertscher (born January 21, 1954 in Saalfeld ) is a German politician ( SED / PDS ).

Life

Kertscher, son of a locksmith and an assistant cook, attended the polytechnic high school and completed vocational training with a high school diploma as an electronics technician at VEB Carl Zeiss Jena , Saalfeld division from 1970 to 1973 . From 1973 to 1977 he studied history and German at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig , graduating as a qualified teacher . In March 1974 he joined the SED. Kerscher then worked until 1982 as a teacher at the SED district party school "Ernst Schneller" in Mittweida . From 1982 to 1986 he was candidate at the Institute imperialism Research Academy of Social Sciences of the Central Committee of the SED, in 1984 he graduated with a diploma in social scientists from 1986 he graduated as Dr. oec. with a thesis on the subject of the socio-economic position and development tendencies of employees in the central state apparatus of the FRG .

From 1986 to October 1988 he was secretary for agitation and propaganda of the SED district leadership Brand-Erbisdorf , from October 1988 to November 1989 first secretary of the SED district leadership Hohenstein-Ernstthal . On November 11, 1989, Kercher was elected the new First Secretary of the Karl-Marx-Stadt district management at an extraordinary meeting of the district management . In December 1989 he was a member of the working committee for the preparation of the extraordinary SED party congress on 8/9. and 16./17. December 1989. On this he was elected to the party executive committee of the SED / PDS.

From March to October 1990 he was a PDS member of the People's Chamber and from October to December 1990 a member of the Bundestag . From 1991 to 1994, at the suggestion of the PDS, he was an observer in the group of the European United Left in the European Parliament .

Later he was managing director of the property developer GbR Erfurt in Hohenstein-Ernstthal .
