The North Charleston Coliseum is a multi-purpose hall in the US city ​​of North Charleston in the state of South Carolina . It is part of the North Charleston Convention Center Complex . The building, which opened on January 29, 1993, has a maximum of 14,500 seats (11,000 built-in seats and 3,500 mobile seats). The arena has been home to the ECHL ice hockey team of the South Carolina Stingrays and the NCAA basketball team of the Charleston Southern Buccaneers of Charleston Southern University since 1993 . Former users of the North Charleston Coliseum are the arena football team Charleston Swamp Foxes ( Af2 ) from 2000 to 2003, the Charleston Lowgators of the NBA D-League were based there from 2001 to 2004 and 2006, the Carolina Sandsharks ( NIFL ). The multi-purpose hall hosted the final tournaments of the Big South Conference in NCAA college basketball in 1993 and 1994, and the Southern Conference in NCAA college basketball in 2007.
