The Intrust Bank Arena ( spelling : INTRUST Bank Arena ) is a multi-purpose arena in the US city of Wichita in the state of Kansas . The arena is currently home to the Wichita Thunder from the ECHL ice hockey league and the Wichita Force from the Champions Indoor Football (CIF). Occasionally, the Wichita State Shockers ( men's college basketball ) move from the Charles Koch Arena to the larger hall for large-audience games . The approximately 15,000 seats in the Intrust Bank Arena include 22 suites, 40 boxes and 300 premium seats. It is the second largest multi-purpose hall in Kansas after the Allen Fieldhouse (16,300 seats).

In November 2004, Sedgwick County's voters approved the construction of a new multi-purpose arena in downtown Wichita, with a score of 52:48 percent . The new building was intended to replace the Kansas Coliseum , which opened in 1977 . The cost of construction was to 184,528,000 US dollars estimated. The voters also agreed to a sales tax of one percent to finance the new building. It came into force in June 2005 and expired on December 31, 2017. The multi-purpose arena was fully financed when it was completed.
In January 2008, the Sedgwick County Commission approved the long-term sponsorship deal with Intrust Bank for the hall under construction. The bank pays $ 8.75 million to be named in Intrust Bank Arena and the contract has a term of 25 years.
On January 2, 2010, the US $ 205.5 million Intrust Bank Arena opened. The first concert was given by the American country singer Brad Paisley a week later, on January 9th. In addition to concerts and the games of Thunder and Force , various events have taken place over the years. The include u. a.
