Nuotaea is an inhabited island that belongs to the Abaiang Atoll in the Gilbert Islands in the Republic of Kiribati .

geography

Nuotaea is a motu in the northern part of the western reef crown. The island lies together with Nanikirata on the northwest corner of the atoll and stretches from west to east. The settlement of the same name with approx. 480 inhabitants is located on the lagoon side of the island approximately in the middle of the elongated island. There is a church Nuotaea Church , a community center (Maneaba) and a primary school.

The reef crown extends from there further to the southeast with numerous nameless, tiny motu. The next notable island is Manra .
