Obergude is part of the large community of Alheim in the eastern Hessian district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg .

Geographical location

Obergude is located in the Stölzinger Mountains in the northern part of the municipality of Alheim. In the north it borders on massacre Bach with the adjoining valley of the land ( Schwalm-Eder-Kreis ), in the east on the hazel basic ( Rotenburg an der Fulda ) and to the south by Niedergude (to Alheim). It is traversed by the Fulda tributary Gude . The state road  3304 runs through the village ; it connects the four villages of the Gudegrund : Obergude, Niedergude, Erdpenhausen and Hergershausen .

history

The village of Gude was first mentioned in a document from King Otto the Great . This was issued on February 25, 960 in Worms. According to the content of this document, the villages of Gude and Solz were transferred to a nobleman named Thiatgaz for ownership.

With effect from August 1, 1972, Obergude and nine other villages were merged to form the newly founded community of Alheim as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

In 2010 the Oberguder celebrated their 1050th anniversary with a big party together with the neighboring village Niedergude.
