Hergershausen is a district of the municipality of Alheim in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in eastern Hesse . It is located at the beginning of the Gudegrund, not far from Rotenburg an der Fulda.

Geographical location

Hergershausen is located in the southern foothills of the Stölzinger Mountains in the municipality of Alheim, about 2.5 km west-southwest of the Alheimer ( 548.7  m above sea  level ). In the north it borders on Erdpenhausen (zu Alheim) and in the south on Braach (zu Rotenburg an der Fulda ). It is traversed by the Fulda tributary Gude . The state road  3304 runs through the village ; it connects the four villages of the Gudegrund : Obergude , Niedergude , Erdpenhausen and Hergershausen. In the village, the L 3304 meets the L 3253. The Bebra – Baunatal – Guntershausen railway line and the 83 federal road pass the village to the west and south .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1247. In 1939 the village had 230 inhabitants and belonged to the Rotenburg (Fulda) district . As part of the regional reform in Hesse , Hergershausen was merged with nine other villages on August 1, 1972 to form the newly founded community of Alheim.

Culture

  • The village festival takes place regularly on the last weekend in June.
  • Hergershausen won the "Our Village" award in 2002.
