Oberweg is a place in Navistal in North Tyrol , and locality of the municipality of Navis in District Innsbruck-Land , Tyrol .

Oberweg- Schranzer , via Navis and Kohlstatt

The village is around 1450  m above sea level. A. , high above the valley on the southern slope of the Mislkopf  ( 2623  m above sea level ) in the Tux Alps , spread over five kilometers. For village area covers more than 160 buildings with about 600 inhabitants in the local documents geese Rosentrater , the Kerschbaum settlement , Schranzer and Häuserer and the Grünhöfe with the houses in the farthest valley and the mountain pastures Schneideralm, Seapnalm, Peeralm, Tischleralm, Vögeleralm, Zehenteralm, Lattereralm, Grafmartalm , along the sunny side, and Stippleralm with Stippleralm-Hochleger on the other side of the valley behind Navis Dorf , and Stöcklalm with the Naviser Hütte and the Schranzberghaus on Weirichegg.

Place name

The place name is literal: A road runs from Matrei into Navisertal, today's Naviser Landesstraße L 228, as a high-altitude path that bypasses the Hölltal , the outer valley floor. It separates at Bacher (Wegscheid) , leads to the bottom of the valley at Navis , rises again towards the Hintertal at Häuserer , and then returns as a high-altitude trail to Bacher. The localities on the three sections are called Ausserweg , Unterweg and Oberweg .

In Oberweg-Schranzer are the Peer , in Oberweg-Gänsetrater the Vögele , two Tyrolean courtyards under monument protection , as well as the Stippler Chapel ( monument protection ).
