St. Kathrein is a place in the Wipptal in North Tyrol , and part of the municipality of Navis in the Innsbruck-Land district , Tyrol .

geography

The Rotte is located at the entrance of the Navistal , above Statz near Matrei am Brenner , around 1108  m above sea level. A. , left in the Wipptal, right in the Navistal, on the valley shoulder Sonnseitenberg of the Mislkopf  ( 2623  m above sea level ) of the Tux Alps . The houses in the valley in the village are also known locally as St. Kathrein-Aster .

As one of the two census districts of the municipality, St. Kathrein includes the outer Navistal, as well as the municipal areas in the Wipptal, which still extend to the banks of the Sill between Matrei station and the mouth of the Navisbach , these are the places Mühlen , the commercial and Residential area Partull an der Sill south of Matrei (district Außenernavis ), and parts of Ausserweg .

Attractions

Filial church hl. Catherine

In the village is the branch church of St. Catherine , which gave the place its name, attached to the former Aufenstein castle chapel, the last remnant of a derelict castle and ancestral seat of the Tyrolean ministers of Aufenstein. Next to it is the sacristan's house, an old Tirolerhof ( all listed ).

Also worth seeing is the St. Kathrein kindergarten on Landesstraße ( also listed ).
