Oberwindsberg is a district of the Central Franconian municipality of Simmelsdorf in the district of Nürnberger Land .
geography
The hamlet is located on the Alb plateau, just under 3 km northwest of Simmelsdorf. There is a small pond in the center of the village.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1195 with the names "Windsberg", "Winsberc" and "Winesberc". In 1205 it is called "Winesberc superius" (Oberwindsberg).
Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Oberwindsberg became a district of the rural community of Oberndorf with the second municipal edict . On January 1, 1978, the municipality was incorporated into the municipality of Simmelsdorf as part of the municipal reform.
