Schindelrangen is one of 26 districts in the Central Franconian municipality of Simmelsdorf . The village is not officially named, but is designated by the municipality as its district. It is assigned to the village of Judenhof .

geography

The hamlet is located on a mountainside in the Naifer valley , a little above the village of Utzmannsbach . It is located about three kilometers northeast-north of Simmelsdorf and is at an altitude of 459  m above sea level. NHN . The village forms a structural unit with the neighboring Judenhof.

history

The village was first mentioned in 1513 under the name "Gut am Schintelrangen".

Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the village became part of the independent rural community Utzmannsbach , which also included the village of Judenhof and the hamlet of Unterachtel . In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Schindelrangen was first incorporated into the municipality of Diepoltsdorf together with the entire municipality of Utzmannsbach on April 1, 1971 and only three months later it was incorporated into Simmelsdorf. The place name Schindelrangen was officially abolished by the government of Middle Franconia on April 1, 1986 , and since then the place has been part of Judenhof. In 2016, Schindelrangen had 24 residents.

The connection to the public road network is made by a municipal road that connects the town with the district road LAU 12 running in the valley of the Naiferbach .
