Unterwindsberg is one of 24 districts in the municipality of Simmelsdorf in Middle Franconia .
geography
The village is located on a mountain slope below Oberwindsberg , about one and a half kilometers northwest of the center of Simmelsdorf. A much larger settlement area has joined the old town on the southwestern edge. A striking, castle-like, newly built riding facility in the town center.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1195 with the names "Windsberg", "Winsberc" and "Winesberc". In 1205 he is called "Winesberc inferius" (Lower Winesberc).
Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Oberwindsberg became a district of the rural community of Oberndorf with the second municipal edict . On January 1, 1978, the municipality was incorporated into the municipality of Simmelsdorf as part of the municipal reform. In 2016 Unterwindsberg had 293 inhabitants.
