Olaf Reiner Möller (born February 18, 1962 in Mühlhausen ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and has been State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Nature Conservation since December 2014 . He was a member of the Thuringian State Parliament from 1990 to 1994 and from 2014 to 2015 .

education and profession

Olaf Möller passed his Abitur at the Workers and Farmers Faculty ( ABF II ) in Halle (Saale) in 1980 , followed by military service with the NVA . From 1982 to 1983 he worked as a plant operator at a dairy in Schwerin . From 1983 he studied mathematics , physics and anthropology at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . Möller graduated with a diploma in 1988 and was then a research assistant at the university. From 1983 to October 1989 he was a member of the SED .

Political career

Olaf Möller has been a member of the Green Party in the GDR since November 24, 1989 and thus also a founding member. Until the first party congress on February 9, 1990, he was a member of his party's provisional GDR spokesman's council.

In the first Thuringian state election, he was elected as a member of parliament and in the first electoral term of the Thuringian state parliament (1990-1994) led the faction Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Thuringia (initially: New Forum / Greens / Democracy Now ) as Parliamentary Managing Director . From 1995 to 2000 he was state spokesman (chairman) of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Thuringia together with Katrin Göring-Eckardt .

In 2000 Möller took over the management of the Waldorf Education Association in East Thuringia, which also includes the Waldorf Schools Jena and Gera and the Jena Waldorf Kindergarten . In 2002 he passed the state examination to become a naturopath with a focus on homeopathy , acupuncture and psychosomatics . Möller has been working as a farmer since 2002 . Olaf Möller has been a member of the district council in the Saale-Holzland district since 2009 , where he is a member of the district committee and chairman of the budget and finance committee.

In September 2014, Olaf Möller succeeded in returning to the Thuringian state parliament after 20 years on the state list of his party. In the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group, he became deputy parliamentary manager. On December 5, 2014, Thuringia's new Prime Minister, Bodo Ramelow Möller, appointed State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Nature Conservation. Because of his appointment as State Secretary, he resigned his state parliament mandate on January 6, 2015; his successor was Babett Pfefferlein .

Others

Olaf Möller lives in Rödigen near Jena. He is married and has five children and five grandchildren. He is a member of the Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation , the Working Group on Farming Agriculture (AbL), the Verkehrsclub Deutschland and some smaller associations.
