The Oldenbora Open Air Festival is a one-day house music festival held annually on Whitsunday in the Nethen Beach Club in Rastede . With 10,000 visitors, the Oldenbora is one of the largest festivals for electronic music in north-west Germany.
history
The Oldenbora took place for the first time on May 1, 2007 in the Oldenburg city center on the Waffenplatz. The idea and the motto was "party during the day like on Ibiza". The first Oldenbora took place with around 1000 visitors. In the second year you had to change the location. The new venue in 2008 was the outdoor area of Studio B behind the bowling center in Oldenburg in the Osternburg district. The new venue was well received by the guests, so that in 2008 the number of visitors rose to almost 2000. The following year, the Oldenbora took place for the last time on the outdoor area of Studio B. With almost 3000 guests, the capacity limits of the site were reached. In 2010 the festival took place in the industrial area Tweelbäke in Oldenburg. For the first time, two areas were set up on the Schöbel company premises. There was an outdoor area and a second in a large industrial hall. The Oldenbora Festival was able to record 4,000 guests. In the following year, the venue changed within the industrial park, the Schmacker company made its site available and offered space for 6,000 visitors. In 2012 the Oldenbora took place for the first time on the beach, in the Nethen Beach Club. The success came immediately and the number of guests grew to almost 10,000 guests. The Oldenbora has been taking place in the Nethen Beach Club since 2012 and was always sold out with 10,000 guests from 2013.
