Olivera Jevtić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Оливера Јевтић ; born July 24, 1977 in Titovo Užice , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian long-distance runner .

Life

The vice-junior world champion in the 5000-meter run of 1996 took part in the World Championships in Athens the following year , but was eliminated in both the 5000 m and the 10,000 m in the preliminary run.

Things went much better for her at the European Athletics Championships in Budapest in 1998: There she was fourth over both distances. She also took fourth place at the half marathon world championships in Uster this year.

Over 10,000 m she was tenth at the 1999 World Championships in Seville. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 she was eleventh with the current Serbian record of 31: 29.65 min; over 5000 m was eliminated despite another national record of 15: 11.25 min.

Again over 10,000 m she was twelfth at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton and sixth at the 2002 European Championships in Munich. She was also quite successful at the World Half Marathon Championships : a seventh place in 2001 in Bristol was followed by a sixth place in 2002 in Brussels .

Also in 2002 she made her debut on the marathon route . She finished third in the New York City Marathon , but was disqualified and cautioned because of a positive ephedrine result.

In spring 2003 she won the Rotterdam Marathon and set the current Serbian record with 2:25:23 h. In the marathon of the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis , she was eighth.

A third place at the 2004 Boston Marathon was followed by a sixth at the Olympic Games in Athens . In the same year she celebrated her first of four victories so far at the Vidovdan run .

In 2006 she was seventh in Boston and won the silver medal at the European Championships in Gothenburg . She came fourth in the Tokyo International Women's Marathon .

In 2007 she won the Belgrade Marathon . The following year she started in the marathon of the Olympic Games in Beijing , but did not reach the finish. In 2008 and 2009 she won the Podgorica marathon .

Olivera Jevtić is 1.74 meters tall and weighs 52 kg.
