The men's long jump at the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 was held on July 8, 1912 in the Stockholm Olympic Stadium. 19 athletes took part. It was the last time that this discipline, like standing vault, was represented at the Olympic Games.

Olympic champion was the Greek Konstantinos Tsiklitiras . Platt Adams from the USA won the silver medal, bronze went to his younger brother Benjamin Adams .

All 19 jumpers had three attempts. The best three jumpers then completed another three jumps to determine the medal ranks, taking into account the jumps of the first round.

Ray Ewry , who had dominated the standing jump competitions in the previous games , had retired from active competitive sports. His Olympic record was not reached here.

After the first attempt, Ben Adams was ahead of his brother Platt and the Greek Konstantinos Tsiklitiras. The second round brought no change. In the last attempt of the pre-match, the Greek took the lead and Platt Adams took second place in front of his brother Ben. In the final only Platt Adams could improve his distance. However, he only came within an inch of Tsklitiras, so that the ranking was no longer changed.

Konstantinos Tsiklitiras won the only athletics medal in Greece at these games.
