For the first time in history, a men's Alpine Combination was held at the 1936 Winter Olympics . This took place from February 7th to 9th. The competition consisted of a downhill run that took place on the Kandahar run and two slalom runs that were held on the Gudiberg . The times were converted into points in all three runs.
The first Olympic champion was the German Franz Pfnür , ahead of his compatriot Gustav Lantschner . Bronze went to the Frenchman Émile Allais .

Departure
The departure took place on February 7th at 12 noon. The goal of the Kandahar descent was at the valley station of the Kreuzeckbahn . The temperatures were between −4 and −5 ° C. The best time was set by the Norwegian Birger Ruud . James Riddell from Great Britain crashed into a tree and seriously injured his back.
