The Republic of China took part in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada , under the name Chinese Taipei, with a delegation of 13 athletes in four disciplines, including eleven men and two women. None of the athletes managed to win a medal.

The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was bobsledder Chen Chin-san .
