Norway took part in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada, with a delegation of 63 athletes in seven disciplines, including 53 men and 10 women. With three silver and two bronze medals, Norway placed 12th in the medal table. For the first time, no Norwegian athlete achieved an Olympic victory at the Winter Games.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was cross-country skier Oddvar Brå .
