Norway took part in the 1952 Summer Olympics in the Finnish capital Helsinki with 102 athletes, 6 women and 96 men, in 72 competitions in 14 sports.

It was the tenth time a Norwegian team had participated in the Summer Olympics since 1900 .

The youngest athlete was the 16-year-old rower Leif Andersen , the oldest athlete the 54-year-old rider Bjart Ording .

Flag bearer

The athlete Martin Stokken carried the flag of Norway during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .

With five won gold and two silver medals, the Norwegian team finished 10th in the medals table .
