Argentina took part in the 1952 Summer Olympics in the Finnish capital Helsinki with 123 athletes, 8 women and 115 men, in 77 competitions in 15 sports.

It was the ninth time an Argentine team had taken part in the Summer Olympics since 1900 . The youngest athlete was the rower Jorge Arripe at the age of 16, the oldest athlete the 55-year-old sailor Werner von Foerster .

Flag bearer

The athlete Delfo Cabrera carried the flag of Argentina during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .

Medalist

With a recovered gold, two silver and two bronze medals, the Argentine team finished in 19th place in the medal table .
