Yugoslavia took part in the 1952 Summer Olympics in the Finnish capital Helsinki with 87 athletes, 10 women and 77 men, in 48 competitions in 11 sports.

Since 1920 it was the seventh participation of a Yugoslav team in the Summer Olympics .

The youngest athlete was the almost 18-year-old athlete Nada Kotlušek , the oldest athlete the 47-year-old marksman Stjepan Prauhardt .

Flag bearer

The athlete Oto Rebula carried the flag of Yugoslavia during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .

The Yugoslav gold four: Petar Šegvić , Mate Trojanović , coach Davor Jelaska , Velimir Valenta and Duje Bonačić

With a won gold and two silver medals, the Yugoslav team was ranked 21 in the medal count .
