Orange City is a small town (with the status " City ") and the administrative seat of Sioux County in the US -amerikanischen State Iowa . In 2010 , Orange City had 6004 inhabitants, which increased to 6182 by 2013.

Orange City is located in northwest Iowa, a few hundred yards west of the Floyd River , a left tributary of the Missouri . The intersection of the three states of Iowa, South Dakota and Minnesota is located on the Big Sioux River and is 96 km northwest of Orange City. After Nebraska , there are 69 km in direction southsouthwest.

Orange City was founded in 1870 by Dutch settlers, a fact that is commemorated with the annual tulip festival in May. In 1872 the county seat and court of Calliope (part of Hawarden since 1893 ) were relocated here. In 1884 Orange City was incorporated as an independent municipality.
