Ostrowsko is a village with a Schulzenamt of the rural municipality Nowy Targ in the powiat Nowotarski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .
geography
The place lies under the Gorcen on the way between Nowy Targ and Krościenko nad Dunajcem . The development has grown together with Waksmund in the west.

history
First, the Roman Catholic parish was mentioned in 1350 as Phyfer in the Dean's Office de Longo Campo . The place was mentioned in 1406 as a village with a mayor, pub and primitive butcher shops. The original development was of the clustered village ( wielodrożnica ) type, but the inhabitants were shepherds.
The village initially belonged to the Kingdom of Poland (from 1569 in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ), Krakow Voivodeship , Sącz District. When Poland was first partitioned in 1772, the village became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804). From 1855 it belonged to the Nowy Targ district.
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Ostrowsko became part of Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . From 1975 to 1998 Ostrowsko was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
