Louis Otto Ebmeyer , since 1894 von Ebmeyer (born April 24, 1850 in Hamm , † August 29, 1919 in Wiesbaden ) was a Prussian officer , long-time adjutant of the Chancellor of Caprivi and the spa director of Wiesbaden.

He was the son of the Prussian government councilor in Minden Otto Ebmeyer (1819–1870).

Military career

Ebmeyer attended high schools in Frankfurt (Oder) and Minden. On August 5, 1869, he joined the East Frisian Infantry Regiment No. 78 of the Prussian Army as an avantageur . There he was promoted to Portepeefähnrich on March 8, 1870 and promoted to Second Lieutenant on September 2, 1870 during the war against France . During the war Ebmeyer took part in the battles at Vionville , Gravelotte , Beaune-la-Rolande and Le Mans . For his achievements in the enclosure of Metz he received the Iron Cross 2nd class.

After the peace agreement, Ebmeyer and his regiment remained with the occupation army in France and on September 1, 1873 rose to the rank of adjutant of the 1st battalion. Ebmeyer was promoted to captain until July 15, 1886, and as such was appointed company commander on February 15, 1887 . On March 21, 1890 Ebmeyer was hired à la suite of his regiment and ordered to serve as adjutant to Chancellor Leo von Caprivi in ​​Berlin. Civil life

After his departure, Ebmeyer had been the spa director of Wiesbaden since January 1, 1898, and was largely responsible for the construction of the new spa house and the modernization of the spa.

Ebmeyer married Hedwig von Hoorn (* 1858) on September 16, 1882 in Leer .
