The men's 400 meter run at the 2011 Pan American Games took place on October 25 and 26, 2011 at the Telmex Athletics Stadium in Guadalajara .

23 athletes from 18 countries took part in the competition. Nery Brenes won the gold medal after 44.65 s, silver went to Luguelín Santos with 44.71 s and the bronze medal went to Ramon Miller with 45.01 s.
