Papstdorf is a district of the Gohrisch community in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .

geography

Papstdorf is located southeast of the Saxon state capital Dresden in Saxon Switzerland and in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains . It is located in the east of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district in the Saxon Switzerland landscape protection area . The Waldhufendorf is located roughly in the center of the Gohrisch community. The location is on the Papstdorf flatness in the valley basin of the Liethenbach, which flows into the Krippenbach from the left in Krippen . The Papststein rises up on the western edge of Papstdorf , a table mountain . The Lasensteine are to the east of the village.

The Papstdorfer Waldhufenflur, which is largely used for agriculture, covered 513 hectares. However, the district enlarged to more than one and a half times when some wooded areas in the area were added to it. Today it extends from the Gohrisch plateau in the west to the Krippenbach in the east. The Gohrisch is bordered by the northwestern neighboring town of Kurort Gohrisch , in Liethengrund at the Liethenmühle by the northeastern neighboring Kleinhennersdorf , also a district of Gohrisch. Neighboring to the southwest is the Gohrischer district of Cunnersdorf . The Reinhardtsdorf-Schönaer district of Kleingießhübel borders in the southeast, and Reinhardtsdorf in the east at Krippenbach . In the extreme northeast, the Papstdorfer Flur meets the Bad Schandau district of Krippen , in the extreme west of the Königstein district of Pfaffendorf .

The Papstdorf district also includes the hamlet of Koppelsdorf in the north near Kleinhennersdorf and the children's and youth village Erna in the southeast near Kleingießhübel, which emerged from the former central pioneer camp “ Klement Gottwald ”. The most important street on Papstdorfer Flur is the Alte Hauptstraße, which opens up the town center and connects it with Gohrisch and Kleinhennersdorf. Papstdorf is connected to the regional bus network of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains (RVSOE) .
