Parsi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On July 19, 2011, the Iranian Central Bank decided to delete four zeros from the previous currency, the rial , and to name the future currency Parsi . The name of the new currency and the number of zeros to be deleted were determined in a survey of the population. However, this plan was not implemented.

In December 2016, the government decided to replace the rial with the toman , which was the national currency until 1925. Since ten rials correspond to a toman, a zero will be deleted when the price is changed.
