Peitzendorf ( Bukojna in Lower Sorbian ) is an inhabited part of the Altdöbern community in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district in Brandenburg .

location

Peitzendorf is located in Niederlausitz , about ten kilometers north of Großräschen , eleven kilometers southeast of Calau and 22 kilometers southwest of Cottbus . Surrounding villages are Ranzow in the north, Reddern in the northeast, Drebkauer Wohnplatz Göritz in the east, Pritzen in the southeast, Altdöbern in the southwest, Neudöbern in the west and Muckwar in the northwest. Peitzendorf is located in the extreme northwest of the Lusatian Lake District and was part of the Lusatian lignite district . To the south of the village lies the Altdöberner See , the flooded remaining hole of the former Greifenhain opencast mine . The former neighboring town of Neudorf to the south was devastated in 1982.

State road 523 runs through Peitzendorf, and state road 53 runs one kilometer to the west between Calau and Großräschen.

history

The Peiczendorf settlement was first mentioned in a document in 1527 in which the brothers Hans and Georg von Köckritz had to confirm the ownership of their fiefdoms Reddern, Gräbendorf, Peitzendorf and Göritz. The place name can be derived from the Lower Sorbian word bukowina 'beech forest'.

Historically, Peitzendorf was a preliminary work of the manor at Reddern. In 1637 the place was mentioned as Poitzendorf . In 1718 Peitzendorf was parish into the parish of Wüstenhain , around 1820 the place changed to the parish Altdöbern. After the Congress of Vienna , the Kingdom of Saxony had to cede Niederlausitz to Prussia, and Peitzendorf was also affected. In 1864 Peitzendorf was a single settlement with only five inhabitants. After several changes of ownership, Peitzendorf finally came into the possession of Heinrich von Witzleben in 1879 .

On January 1, 1928, Peitzendorf was incorporated into Altdöbern. The landowners were expropriated during the land reforms in the Soviet occupation zone after World War II. Until 1952 Peitzendorf belonged to the district of Calau in the Prussian province of Brandenburg . In GDR times, the place belonged to the Calau district in the Cottbus district . Since the district reform in Brandenburg in December 1993, Peitzendorf has been in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district.
