Peter Ölvecký (born October 11, 1985 in Trenčín , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Dukla Trenčín in the Slovakian extra league since September 2015 .

Career

Peter Ölvecký began his career as a hockey player at HK Dukla Trenčín , he for 2003-2005 in the Slovak Extraliga was active. The attacker and his team became Slovak champions for the first time in his rookie year , in which he played 16 games . He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2004 in the third round as a total of 78th player from the Minnesota Wild . After the left-handed shooter had already accrued for Minnesota's farm team from the American Hockey League , the Houston Eros , from 2005 to 2008 , he made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Wild in the 2008/09 season . He scored a total of seven points scorer in 31 games, including two goals.

In July 2009, Ölvecký signed a contract with the Nashville Predators as a free agent . In the 2009/10 season, however, he came only to one use in the NHL and played mostly in the farm team with the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL. In the same season he also played a few games for Manitoba Moose before the Slovakian signed a contract with HC Dukla Trenčín in October 2010, where he had already played during his youth. After 25 games in which he had scored 26 points, he left the club in January 2011 and signed a contract with KalPa Kuopio in the SM-liiga .

For the 2011/12 season Ölvecký was committed by HC Lev Poprad from the Continental Hockey League . For the team, he remained pointless and punished in six games before his contract was prematurely terminated in January 2012. He then received a trial contract with the Växjö Lakers from the Elitserien , which was extended to the end of the season on January 29. At the end of June of the same year he received a trial contract with HC Slovan Bratislava . At the beginning of September, shortly before the start of the season, his contract was extended to 2013.

Following the 2014/15 season, he left Slovan and returned to his hometown club Dukla Trenčín.

International

For Slovakia , Ölvecký took part in the U20 Junior World Championship in 2005 and the World Championship in 2009 .
