Peter Hirsch (born March 6, 1979 in Copenhagen ) is a former Danish ice hockey goalkeeper who was mainly active in the top divisions of Sweden and Denmark during his career . He was also the goalkeeper of the Danish national team for many years , with whom he took part in numerous world championships.
Player career
Peter Hirsch began his career as an ice hockey player at Rungsted IK , for whose professional team he was active from 1995 to 1997 in the AL-Bank Ligaen . The goalkeeper then spent three years in the second Swedish division at IF Troja-Ljungby - first in Division 1 and in the 1999/2000 season in its successor league HockeyAllsvenskan . He then got the opportunity to present himself in the Elitserien , in which he stood between the posts for MODO Hockey . With MODO he was runner-up in 2002 as a regular player. He then decided to move to North America and signed there with the Bakersfield Condors from the ECHL . There, despite a respectable goal average of 2.70, he only made 14 appearances, so he returned to his ex-club from Rungsted, which had since been renamed Nordsjælland Cobras.
The 2004/05 season began Hirsch with the Malmö Redhawks in the Swedish Elitserien, but played for the Nordsjælland Cobras for the next two and a half years, where he was almost exclusively for the Leksands IF in the HockeyAllsvenskan on the ice in the 2006/07 season . With Nordsjælland he won the national cup competition in 2004 and 2005. The national player spent the 2007/08 season exclusively with AaB Ishockey in Denmark. In the following season he also ran on in Sweden for Timrå IK in the Elitserien and IK Oskarshamn in HockeyAllsvenskan. For the 2009/10 season he accepted the contract offer of the Coventry Blaze from the Elite Ice Hockey League . With the British he won the EIHL championship and with an average of 2.86 conceded in his 56 main round appearances, as well as an improvement to an average of 2.33 conceded in his three playoff appearances, he made a significant contribution to this success and was chosen for space -Star team of the league rewards.
For the 2010/11 season , Hirsch was signed by his ex-club Bakersfield Condors from the ECHL. There he could not convince in his twelve season appearances, so he moved to the Pensacola Ice Flyers in February 2011 , for which he was on the ice in seven games in the Southern Professional Hockey League by the end of the season . From the 2011/12 season he ran again for Coventry Blaze in the EIHL, before ending his career with Rungsted Ishockey in the Metal Ligaen in the 2013/14 season .
From the 2014/15 season he will work as a goalkeeper coach at IF Björklöven from Allsvenskan.
International
For Denmark , Hirsch took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B European Championship in 1997 and the U20 Junior B World Championship in 1999 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 1999 , 2000 , 2001 and 2002 and at the A World Championships in 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 and 2010 .
