Peter M. Lenkov (* in Laval , Québec ) is a Canadian - American film and television producer and screenwriter .

Life and accomplishments

Lenkov was born and raised north of Montréal , in the suburb of Laval. In Montréal he attended McGill University and Concordia University and pursued communication studies in the mid-1980s , which inspired him to write his first screenplay. As a result, he took summer courses at the University of California (UCLA) in Los Angeles at the age of 21 .

His first major professional success came with the script for the science fiction action film Demolition Man (1993), which he co-authored and in which the well-known actors Sylvester Stallone , Sandra Bullock and Wesley Snipes played the leading roles. Lenkov first wrote scripts for the agent series Nikita in 1999 in the third season. In total, he is responsible for the plot of thirteen episodes of the third and fourth seasons of this dramatic television series, by Joel Zusammenarbeit with Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis . Lenkov also acted as a producer. He then co-produced the action thriller Ballistic (2002) with Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu . In the dramatic crime series The District - Einsatz in Washington (2003-2004) he worked as a producer and screenwriter. In 2005 he carried out these activities in the multi-award-winning real-time series 24 , which is conceived by Joel Zusammenarbeit and Robert Cochran and presented by Kiefer Sutherland .

Lenkov has worked in the film industry for over fifteen years. He also wrote the comics Fort: Prophet of the Unexplained with Frazer Irving as illustrator, and RIPD together with Lucan Marangon and Randy Emberlin. In 2005, Lenkov, shared with others, was nominated for an Emmy for 24 best drama series .

He is married to former actress Audie England , lives in Los Angeles County , California , and has three children. His cousin is the screenwriter David Wolkove .
