Peter Lewy Preston (* 9. November 1990 in Herrenberg as Peter Schmid ) is a German actor and singer with Slovenian-American roots.
biography
Peter Lewys Preston studied at Shenandoah University in Virginia and the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding in Munich, from which he graduated summa cum laude .
He won the national singing competition in Berlin twice in a row (2013, 2015) and received the special prize of the “ Jugendkulturell ” foundation in 2013 and the special prize of the German Music Council in 2010.
In 2013 he played Christian de Neuvillette in Cyrano de Bergerac for Bayerischer Rundfunk and Jimmy's Mum in Kifferwahn at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz . He then appeared on stage as Sir Christoph von Bleichenwang in Shakespeare's Was ihr wollt , took on the role of Robert Martin in The Drowsy Chaperone: Wedding with Obstacles and played Novecento: The Legend of the Ocean Pianist at the Prinzregententheater in Munich. In the following engagement he was seen as Dieter in the world premiere of Io Senza Te at Theater 11 in Zurich and then as Mortimer in King , Christopher Marlowe's royal drama about Edward II .
In 2015 he released his debut album Reaching for Heaven , for which he had composed in addition to singing. Abla Alaoui is a guest singer on two titles.
He gave concerts in the Cafe Prinzipal of the Prinzregententheater in Munich , the Boulevard Theater in Dresden, the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam and in the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin .
From 2016 to 2018 Peter Lewys Preston was a permanent member of the Landestheater Linz . There he took on the role of Rachmaninoff in the European premiere of Dave Malloys Preludes , and Carl Bruner in the German premiere of the musical Ghost - Message from Sam .
