Peter Simmer

Peter Simmer (born September 18, 1905 in Besch ; † January 27, 1971 in ibid) was a German district administrator in the Ahrweiler district .

Origin and life

The catholic Peter Simmer was a son of the farmer and mill owner Johann Simmer and his wife Anna, geb. Jochem. After completing his school education and his first university education, he passed his first teacher examination in 1925 and then worked in the insurance industry. This was followed by a degree in economics in Frankfurt am Main , which he completed in August 1932 with a degree in business administration and on March 31, 1933 with the dissertation The public life insurance institutions in Germany with special consideration of their capital investments as a Dr. rer. pole. completed. On April 1, 1933, he was initially acting mayor of Engers , who was followed by a representative position at the Ahrweiler district office from February 16, 1934. On January 13, 1936, he received his appointment as provisional district administrator of the Ahrweiler district and on May 14, 1936, he received the definitive appointment. In 1945 he was dismissed from service as district administrator.

National Socialism

Simmer was a member of the NSDAP for the first time from April 1, 1928 until his expulsion on December 1, 1928 . He rejoined the party on May 1, 1932. In the period from April 1, 1933 to February 15, 1934 he was the local group leader of Engers and from February 16, 1934 to 1938 he was the district leader of Ahrweiler, the official appointment was on Takes place February 24, 1937. After the end of the Second World War , on May 14, 1948, he was classified as an incriminated person by the Saarbrücken Chamber of Justice due to his activities during the Nazi era . Simmer had been married to Therese Heiss from Friedrichshafen, daughter of an elementary school director, since 1933. An older brother of his was the former mayor of Koblenz Nikolaus Simmer .
