Pierre Desproges
Pierre Desproges (born May 9, 1939 in Pantin , † April 18, 1988 in Paris ) was a French humorist , author and television cabaret artist .
Life
Desproges initially earned his living as a journalist and over the years developed into a satirist. With his cabaret solo programs, he toured France, Belgium and Switzerland. He achieved popularity in France with his radio and television broadcasts in the 1980s . Cartoonists like Georges Wolinski and Jean-Marc Reiser worked with him. His early death at the age of 49 in April 1988, shortly before the premiere of his third solo cabaret program, was the result of cancer. Pierre Desproges was born in the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris across from Frédéric Chopin buried.
His sense of humor
Desproges used a biting sense of humor in literary terms and often presented himself through unfamiliar joke subjects, whereby he took sides politically. “You can laugh at anything, but not with everyone”.
His humor reflected his anti-militarist stance ("You don't have to despair of stupid people. With a little practice you can turn them into militarists") or anti- racism ("There's more humanity in a dog's eye when it wags its tail." than in Le Pen's tail when he moves his eye ”,“ Anne Sinclair has stated that she never married a non-Jew - that could be interpreted as a kind of racism ”).
Desproges also dealt with sensitive topics such as religion (“God said: 'You should love your neighbor as yourself', that is true. But God or not God, I have a horror of being greeted and then having me I'd rather it's not my fault ”), World War II (“ The bad thing about the collaboration is you had to betray the Jews; but the bad thing about the Maquis is you had to live with them ”) and even your own Illness (“Plus cancéreux que moi, tumeur!” - a play on words , deciphered: “Whoever has more cancer than me dies”).
He was also critical of the economic situation of a satirist: “I am ashamed to earn as much in one evening as a skilled worker in three months, although not far from here at the moment, Guy Bedos [also a humorist] in one evening six Earned monthly salary of a senior employee! "
Career
Desproges worked as a journalist at L'Aurore and attracted attention with unusual short stories . He also appeared on the Sunday satirical television program Le Petit Rapporteur from 1975 to 1977 . The appearances of Mathias Richling or the windshield wiper are most comparable on German television . His cabaret performance in this program by Jacques Martin , in which the comedian Daniel Prévost also appeared, was characterized by black humor and sarcasm .
Desproges appeared on Le Tribunal des flagrants délires with Claude Villers and Luis Rego and he had a daily broadcast on France Inter called Chroniques de la haine ordinaire (Chronicle of Ordinary Hate). Together with Thierry Le Luron , he hosted the satirical weekly program Les Parasites sur l'antenne (The Parasites on the air).
Also on FR3 he had a column called La Minute nécessaire de Monsieur Cyclopède , which, according to his own statement, split France into two parties: "the fools they like and the fools they dislike."
