Audronė Pitrėnienė

Audronė Pitrėnienė (born July 21, 1958 in Lenkimai , Skuodas district ) is a Lithuanian politician, Seimas member. From 2015 to 2016 she was Lithuania's Minister of Education .

Life

After graduating from the Ylakiai Middle School near Skuodas in 1976 , Pitrėnienė graduated from the Pedagogical University (VPU) in Vilnius in 1984 and became a teacher of biology and agriculture . In 2004, she graduated in Edukologie at the Pedagogical Faculty of the University in Klaipeda .

From 1984 to 1986 Pitrėnienė taught at the commercial technical center in Vilnius and from 1986 as a school teacher in the district of Skuodas. From 1999 to 2004 she was the director of the grammar school. From 2004 to 2008 she was a member of the Seimas , elected in the constituency of Skuodas - Mažeikiai . In 2010 she headed the Mosėdis District . From 2012 to 2016 she was a member of the Seimas again. From May 28, 2015 to December 13, 2016, she was also the Lithuanian Minister of Education and Science in the Butkevičius cabinet . She was appointed by Dalia Grybauskaitė .

Pitrėnienė has been a member of Darbo partija since 2003 .

Pitrėnienė is married. With her husband Aurelijus Pitrėnas she has sons Tomas Matutis and Aurelijus Pitrėnas.
