Pogorzałka ( German Hellewald ) is a place of Gmina Byczyna in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location

Pogorzałka is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The village of Pogorzałka is located about 15 kilometers southeast of the municipality of Byczyna , about 21 kilometers northeast of the district town of Kluczbork and about 68 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .

The village is in the middle of a large wooded area.

Neighboring towns of Pogorzałka are in the northwest Nasale ( Nassadel ), in the northeast Goła ( Gohle ) and in the west Pszczonki ( Schonke ).

history

The village was founded as a colony of the Nassadel manor. In 1840 an ore mine is mentioned in the village, in which 103 men are employed. In 1845 the village consisted of a total of 21 houses. In the same year 180 people lived in Hellewald, 84 of them Catholic.

As a result of the Second World War, Hellewald came under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Pogorzałka and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
