Jaśkowice ( German Jaschkowitz ) is a place of Gmina Byczyna in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location
Jaśkowice is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The village of Jaśkowice is located about one kilometer north of the Byczyna municipality , about 19 kilometers north of the district town of Kluczbork and about 65 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .
The state road Droga krajowa 11 runs west of the village .

history
The village is first mentioned as Jeskowicz in 1393 . In 1414 the village was mentioned as Gischkowicz . The name of the village is derived from the name of the founder, the village of Jaśko (also Jakob).
In 1588 the village of Jaschkowitz was destroyed in the fighting in the Battle of Pitschen . In 1592 the first village chief, a gentleman named Tomek, is mentioned. Jan Frąck is recorded as the village chief for the year 1600. In 1760 a school was established in the village.
In 1845 there was a Protestant school and another 50 houses in the village. In the same year, 437 people lived in Jaschkowitz, 78 of them Catholic. In 1861 there were 504 people in Jaschkowitz. The Jaschkowitz district was founded in 1874 . The first head of office was the manor owner von Tieschowitz from Golkowitz. In 1890 a toddler school was set up in Jaschkowitz.
In 1933 there were 488 people in Jaschkowitz. On May 27, 1936, the name of the village was changed to Auenfelde . In 1939 440 people lived in Auenfelde. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district
As a result of the Second World War, Jaschkowitz fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Jaśkowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. The municipality of Jaśkowice existed between 1945 and 1954. In 1995, 231 people lived in the village. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
