Paruszowice ( German Baumgarten ) is a place of Gmina Byczyna in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location
Paruszowice is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The village of Paruszowice is located around four kilometers southeast of the municipality of Byczyna , around 15 kilometers north of the district town of Kluczbork and around 61 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .
The village is located on the Proschlitzer Bach (Polish Pratwa ), a left tributary of the Prosna .

history
The village is first mentioned in 1405 as Pomerium . In 1414 the village was mentioned as Bawnyartin .
In 1845 there was a castle, a farm and another 30 houses in the village. In the same year, 295 people lived in Baumgarten, seven of them Catholic and three Jewish. In 1861 there were 275 people in Baumgarten. In 1874 the district of Wilmsdorf was founded, to which Baumgarten was incorporated. The first head of office was the Vorwerk owner Herrmann Laubner from the Langwiese colony. In 1887 the road between Wilmsdorf, Baumgarten and Pitschen was expanded.
In 1933 340 people lived in Baumgarten, and in 1939 again 337 people. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district
As a result of the Second World War, Baumgarten, like most of Silesia, fell under Polish administration in 1945 . The place was subsequently renamed Paruszowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
Attractions
- The Protestant chapel was built in the 15th century in the Gothic style on a square floor plan. This has served as a Protestant church since 1532. In the church there was a Gothic triptych , a baptismal font and a Baroque crucifix from 1674. In 1995 these objects were stolen during a break-in. The triptych was reconstructed in the 2000s.
- The Castle Baumgarten was built in the early 20th century. Today it is privately owned. built.
- The castle is surrounded by a 2 hectare landscaped park , which was laid out in the English style in the mid-19th century. This has been a listed building since 1977.
