Wojsławice ( German Woislawitz , 1936-1945 Kirchlinden ) is a place of Gmina Byczyna in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location

Wojsławice is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The village of Wojsławice is located about seven kilometers east of the Byczyna municipality , about 18 kilometers north of the district town of Kluczbork and about 65 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .

Droga wojewódzka 487 provincial road runs through the village .

history

St. Joseph

The place is first mentioned in 1405 as Woyslowicz . The place name is derived from the name of the founder, village of Wieroslaw .

In 1845 there was a church and another 21 houses in the village. In the same year 172 people lived in Woislawitz, 29 of them Catholic. In 1861 there were 172 people in Woislawitz. In 1874 the district of Roschkowitz was founded, to which Woislawitz was incorporated.

In 1925 the place had 103, in 1933 again 92 inhabitants. On May 27, 1936, the place name was changed to Kirchlinden . In 1939 94 people lived in Kirchlinden. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, Kirchlinden fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . The place was subsequently renamed Wojsławice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).

Attractions

• Today's Roman Catholic St. Joseph's Church was built in 1877 in place of a wooden church in the neo-Gothic style and was the church of the Protestant parish until 1989.
