Janówka ( German Janowka ) is a place of Gmina Byczyna in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location
Janówka is located in the southern part of the historical region of Greater Poland . In the north and west, the village borders on the border with the Greater Poland Voivodeship . Between 1918 and 1939 the village was on the border with Poland . The village of Janówka is located about thirteen kilometers northwest of the municipality of Byczyna , about 30 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kluczbork and about 68 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .
To the north of the village are extensive forest areas, some of which belong to the Las Łęgowy nature reserve in the Łęka Opatowska municipality .

Neighboring towns of Janówka are Kuźnica Trzcińska in the northwest and Miechowa ( Omechau ) in the southeast .
history
The village Janowka belonged from 1887 to 1920 the county Kempen in Posen in the government district of Posen . In 1920 the district including Janowka was ceded to Poland. 1920 to 1939 the village belonged as a rural community to the powiat Kępiński . Between 1939 and 1945 the village again belonged to the newly founded district of Kempen (Wartheland) .
As a result of the Second World War, Janowka fell under Polish administration again in 1945. The place was subsequently renamed Janówka . In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).
