Proślice ( German Proschlitz , 1936-1945 Angersdorf ) is a place of Gmina Byczyna in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location

Proślice is located in the northwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Kreuzburger Land. The village of Proślice is located about seven kilometers southwest of the Byczyna municipality , about 20 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kluczbork and about 60 kilometers northeast of the voivodeship capital Opole .

The village is located on the Proschlitzer Bach (Polish Pratwa ), a left tributary of the Prosna .

history

Sacred Heart Church

The village is first mentioned in 1410 as Polenwicz . The Slavic name Proslice roughly means piglet village .

In the middle of the 17th century there was a "beer war" between Proschlitz and Pitschen. Proschlitz won the trial in 1652. In 1758 a break in the ground was introduced.

In 1845 the village had a castle, an evangelical scrap wood church, an evangelical school, a distillery, a brewery, a brick factory and another 55 houses. In the same year 687 people lived in Proschlitz, 107 of them Catholic and eleven Jewish. In 1861 there were 708 people in Proschlitz. In 1874 the district of Proschlitz was founded. The first head of office was the manor owner Leo von Watzdorf. The road to Polanowitz was laid out between 1890 and 1891 .

In 1920 a sports and games club was founded in Proschlitz. In 1933 547 people lived in Proschlitz. On May 27, 1936, the village was renamed Angersdorf . In 1939 the village had 518 inhabitants. Until 1945 the village belonged to the Kreuzburg OS district

As a result of the Second World War, Proschlitz fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Proślice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kluczborski ( Kreuzburg district ).

Attractions

  • The Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Polish Kościół pw. Najświętszego Serca Jezusowego ) is a scrap wood church and was built in 1531. The current baroque interior design dates from 1748. The bell tower on the west side was added in 1773. The church was renovated in 1859, 1905, 1929 and most recently in 1980. The church has been a listed building since 1953.
  • The Proschlitz castle was the turn of the 18th and 19th century in the classical style commissioned by Count Ernst von Strachwitz built. In 1914 the building was rebuilt, with the classical architecture being replaced by a modern facade in the style of eclecticism . The two-story building has a rectangular floor plan and a high mansard roof. On the west side there is a four-column portico with a balcony. The coats of arms of the von Watzdorf and Raczków families have been preserved on the gable . A primary school was located in the building between 1945 and 2003. Today the castle is partly used as an accommodation facility by the Hetman Roma Byczyna sp. Z o. O. used.
  • The castle is surrounded by an extensive landscaped park with trees from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
