Poliana Barbosa Medeiros (born February 6, 1991 in Ituiutaba , Minas Gerais ) is a Brazilian soccer player .
Career
society
Poliana was recruited in 2009 by talent scouts of Santos FC from the youth of América FC in São José do Rio Preto , but only one year later moved to São José EC in São José dos Campos . For five seasons, she was part of the regular squad of a successful team around Formiga and Bruna Benites , which won the Copa Libertadores Femenina three times (2011, 2013, 2014) . In the 2011 final against CSD Colo-Colo , she scored the decisive winning goal and in the 2014 final against FC Caracas she scored twice.
For the 2015 season, Poliana and her teammate Rosana moved to the Houston Dash in the US NWSL . She played on loan for UMF Stjarnan in Iceland in the second half of 2015 . In 2018 Poliana played for the Orlando Pride franchise , which she left after just one season.
National team
Poliana made her debut on December 9, 2012 against the Portuguese selection at the Torneio Internacional in São Paulo in the Brazilian national team.
She was also a member of the squad for the 2014 South American Championship in Ecuador , the 2015 World Championship and the 2015 Pan American Games in Canada , and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
