The Protestant Church Höchen is the parish church of the Protestant parish Höchen , a district of Saarland Bexbach in the church district ( Dean's Office ) Homburg / Saar of the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate . The church is listed as an individual monument in the Saarland's list of monuments .

history

In 1902 a Protestant prayer room was built in Höchen according to plans by the architect and district master builder Johann Caspar Löhmer (Homburg). In 1909/10 a tower was placed in front of the prayer room . Architect Friedrich Larouette (Frankenthal) drafted the plans for the reconstruction of the church from 1920-22, during which the choir was built.

In 1963 the reconstruction took place under the direction of the architect Ludwig Wolfart (Homburg). In 1978 the church underwent a restoration .

Architecture and equipment

The church is an Art Nouveau building . Inside the church, the two three-part windows in the side walls of the nave from 1902 are worth seeing. The painter Georg Kau ( Munich ) created three small windows in the choir in 1921 and the church painter Fritz Muth (Munich) 1920–22 the oil painting " Jesus preaches on the Höcherberg ”. The wrought iron lamps with chalice and Christ monogram in the nave were designed in 1922 by the architect Friedrich Larouette ( Frankenthal ).

organ

The organ of the church was built in 1910 by the company A. Poppe & Söhne ( Offenbach an der Queich ). The instrument has 13 registers , divided into two manuals and pedal . The organ is set up on a gallery . Your gaming table is free-standing, facing the altar . In 1922 it was redesigned after a new ceiling was installed in the nave. In 1993 the organ was restored by Hugo Mayer Orgelbau ( Heusweiler ).
