Röhrse ( Low German Reurße ) is a district of the town of Peine in Lower Saxony with about 240 inhabitants.

In terms of population, it is the second smallest town in Peine (after Wendesse ).

geography

Röhrse is geographically located on the western edge of the Peine district on the course of the Fuhse river and borders in the west on Sievershausen , southeast on Eixe and Vöhrum , in the east on the Wendesser Moor , and in the north on Abbensen and Oelerse . The federal motorway 2 leads south directly past the place and the parking lots located close to the place are named after Röhrse. There is no thoroughfare through the village .

history

The chapel in Röhrse

In 1331 the place is mentioned for the first time as Rothersen .

A chapel was probably built in Röhrse as early as 1534. In 1839, today's half-timbered chapel was built in the center of the village.

On March 1, 1974, the formerly independent municipality , which belonged to the Burgdorf district, became part of the town of Peine in the Peine district as part of the regional reform .

politics

The head of the village is Ursula Henniger (SPD). The route to the Suedlink power line planned by the network operator TenneT TSO and TransnetBW directly affects the site. They are not generally against the corridor here, but want to achieve a permanent tax for the use of the land.

coat of arms

The coat of arms shows a blue, left-facing, standing lion in a golden border of clouds on a red shield. The lion and the colors blue-gold symbolize that the place belongs to the former Duchy of Braunschweig-Lüneburg , whose subjects were the residents. The color combination red-gold stands for the dependence on the duchy of Hildesheim , to which taxes also had to be paid. The protrusions in the shield frame represent 16 row owners in the border area.

The coat of arms was adopted by the local council on February 21, 1967, the design comes from Alfred Brecht.
